[Portland, OR] – Former House Speaker and gubernatorial candidate Tina Kotek announced new endorsements from Deschutes County elected leaders today. These endorsements come after Kotek announced new endorsements from Lane County leaders earlier in the month.
“There is no community in Oregon where access to housing is not strained. Oregon’s next Governor can’t just talk about solving our housing crisis, they need to have the experience to be able to do it,” said Bend City Councilor Melanie Kebler. “That’s why I’m proud to stand with Tina Kotek – Tina is a nationally recognized expert on affordable housing and has made huge inroads in expanding access to affordable housing and shelters in our state. I know that with Tina in the Governor’s office we will see real progress in ensuring that every Oregonian has access to safe, affordable housing.”
“I’m supporting the candidate who has the experience to preserve Bend’s natural beauty, and hands down that’s Tina Kotek,” said Bend City Councilor Gena Goodman-Campbell. “Tina is a fighter for environmental protection and has made history putting Oregon on the right track to combat against climate change. The next few years are a consequential time to take strong action against climate change. Tina Kotek has proven time and time again that she is the environmental champion that we need, now more than ever.”
“Justice is at the forefront of everything Tina Kotek does,” said Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel. “From protecting our immigrant community to defending women’s rights, Tina Kotek fights for all of us. I am proud to endorse Tina Kotek for Governor because I know that in Tina, Oregon has a leader who will put people first.”
“Deschutes County has seen dynamic growth in the last decade and the area’s vibrancy is important to the future of our state,” said Tina Kotek, candidate for Governor. “I am so proud to have the support of dedicated leaders in Deschutes County, and I look forward to continuing our partnership to deliver results for communities across central Oregon.”
